Wooo, Valerie sent me a short little piece :3 Donovan and Sean try to kill each other! Yay!
“Claris!”
I looked up from the book I was reading. It took me a moment to shift from the book to reality and I blinked, attempting to clear my mind.
“Claris!” the voice snapped fiercely from upstairs again. It was Sean, and from the urgency in his voice I knew something was wrong. I leapt to my feet, bounding up the stairs as Sean called me yet again.
“Wh-” I started. But as I came to my room, I stopped in pure shock. Sean was in my room, along with Donovan. Sean held Donovan’s throat, and had his arm twisted painfully behind his back.
“Look what I found,” Sean hissed as my mouth dropped open. Sean’s eyes were wild and ablaze with madness, and on his mouth was a maniacal smile that sent shivers throughout my body.
“How-”
Sean jerked Donovan's arm as he spoke. “He was milling about outside your window in the tree like a monkey. I simply let him in.” Sean’s grin grew. “Can I kill him Claris?”
I didn’t reply. I couldn’t reply. Already my head had begun to pound.
“Well Claris?”
“Yes Claris,” Donovan choked out, a thin smile spilling onto his face, “will you let this psycho kill me?”
Sean’s hold on Donovan's throat tightened, and he glared fiercely at his captive. “You will watch your mouth monkey boy.” He then turned his attention back to me. “Well?”
My mouth opened and closed several times before I was able to speak. “No.”
“What!?!” Sean cried out. Rage overtook his face and his grip tightened even further on Donovan's neck, causing him to make a choking sound. I took a step back, afraid of what Sean might do.
“W-w-w-well,” I stuttered uncontrollable, “w-we could f-find out wh-what h-he wants; w-why he’s done a-all he’s d-done.”
“We already know,” Sean replied in a toneless voice, “so I say lets be rid of the wretch.” His grip tightened and Donovan's eyes bulged.
“Wait!” I exclaimed, reaching out my hand, “w-we could, uh, f-find out exactly what they’re doing. T-that way w-we can stop Lucius if h-he tries to finish where D-Donovan left o-off.” I paused, swallowing. “A-and we could get Metatron and t-the others h-here. And th-they could de-decide what to d-do with him.”
For a moment, I didn’t think Sean was going to listen, and my fear grew. But to my relief, Sean lessened his hold, and Donovan began gasping for breath. Much to my dismay, he then began to laugh for some unknown reason.
“What do you want me to do with him?” questioned Sean with forced calmness. His lips were puckered slightly, and he starred at me from beneath his bangs with extreme disapproval.
I massaged my temples, thinking.
“Uh... I d’no...” I mumbled. Sean’s eyes narrowed at me and I rushed on. “Uh, tie him up.”
“Wonderful plan, save
for that I have no rope, and unlike Cadmiel I can’t make things appear
out of thin air,” he replied tartly.
“I-I’ll go g-get something...
don’t go anywhere.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t. Hurry up now.”
I darted from my room, thanking that my parents and brother weren’t home. Jogging into the kitchen to see if I could find something, I heard a thump from upstairs. Hoping that nothing was wrong, I hurriedly searched for rope. After a few moments, I heard Sean scream in surprise and then a loud crash.
“Sean!” I screamed, running from the kitchen. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could, but unfortunately I tripped. Swearing, I scrambled to my feet without further difficulty.
Sean was lying face down on the floor, and my night stand hd been knocked over. Donovan was no where.
“Sean!?!” I shouted as I knelt next to him. He slowly turned over, looking up at me. His forehead had been cut, and his arm had too.
“He stabbed my arm and then threw me,” Sean explained angrily, “the bastard’s strong. I knew I should’ve held his other arm.....”
He trailed off as he sat up. He studied my face worriedly, and then slowly touched my face.
“Don’t cry,” he said gently, wiping away tears that I hadn’t even realized had fallen.
“I-I’m sorry,” I said, blushing fiercely. “I.... I thought he- w-well.... I thought-”
Sean brought me into his arms, and I felt my face grow hotter. I rushed on. “When I s-saw you lying t-there-”
“I’m fine Claris,” he said gently.
We sat there for a long while, the breeze from my still open window blowing against us. We then put my room back together, and then I attended Sean’s wounds. He grabbed a soda from the refrigerator and we sat in the living room.
“S-Sean?” I said.
“Hmm?”
“I-I’m sorry f-for w-what happened.”
“It wasn’t your fault. We’ll get him next time,” he replied simply. “Now, what’s on T.V.?”
DONOVAN: Heh heh, I rule.
SEAN: Bastard >_>
